Early PlasticsBritish Domino No 2

Dominoes originate from Italy in the 18th century. Traditionally they were made out of materials such as ivory and dark hardwood. This set of 28 Ebonite dominoes dates from 1910. The advertising on the box boasts ‘Cannot get loose or come apart. Corners cannot break off. No rivets. All one size. All uniform. All one piece. Single Dominoes supplied at small cost. British manufacture throughout.’
